NELLA Labs is part of NELLA Interactive. We design, build and operate digital products and the cloud systems underneath them, working across four countries with genuinely overlapping working days.
Why we exist
Ideas into living systems
Most software fails somewhere between the idea and the running service. Either the idea never becomes a specific enough plan to build, or the build never becomes a system anyone can operate.
We work across that whole span deliberately. The same organisation that helps you decide what to build will design it, engineer it, deploy it and — if you want — keep it running. That continuity is not a commercial preference; it is the only way the people making architectural decisions ever find out whether they were right.
It is also why we build our own products. Trellis, Daju Verify and Domicium put us on the receiving end of our own decisions: the migration that went wrong, the dependency nobody scheduled, the support ticket from a user whose connection keeps dropping.
How we work
Six things that are actually true of us
- We tell you when we are the wrong team. Fit assessment happens in Explore, before anyone has spent money, and we would rather lose the work than take on a project we cannot do well.
- We quote discovery fixed and delivery fixed against what discovery produced. A firm number quoted against an unexamined brief is either padded or wrong.
- We publish what we cannot substantiate as unverified rather than filling the gap. There are no invented clients, metrics or certifications anywhere on this site.
- We separate response targets from resolution targets, because only one of them can be honestly guaranteed.
- We design so you can leave. Documentation, runbooks and infrastructure code stay yours, and exit assistance is written into the contract rather than negotiated while you are trying to go.
- We treat accessibility defects as defects. They go in the same queue as everything else that stops a user completing a task.
